I am Jenny Huang, founder of Language for Life NZ and head English and Chinese tutor at the Language for Life NZ online school.
I have a Master's degree in Educational Psychology and have been an ESOL tutor for 7 years. My teaching experience includes 3 years teaching in Japan, both privately and in international schools, 2 years teaching migrants and refugees at PEETO, a multicultural learning school in Christchurch, and 5 years teaching online. I have taught students from around the world and across different age groups.
I am passionate about teaching and language learning. I am fully bilingual in English and Mandarin Chinese. In addition to these two languages, I am self-taught in basic Spanish and Japanese. As a language learner myself, I am highly aware of and responsive to students' language-learning needs.
With my Educational Psychology background, I specialise in a student-centred teaching and learning approach. At Language for Life, you receive teaching materials designed specifically for you and your learning needs. I do not use textbooks because languages are not lifeless words: they are meant to be lived and used in everyday life. That is why my school is called Language for LIFE!
